Plus jamais ça ! Never Again ! After Notre-Dame, new campaign to secure our heritage

Je soutiens cette collecte

On the evening of April 15, a sudden blaze broke out in Notre-Dame de Paris setting off an historic act of generosity coming from French people and heritage lovers form all around the world.

Facing this tragedy, you were 220 000 contributors to come to Notre-Dame cathedral’s rescue and to show your attachment to it. For that, we could never thank you enough.

Unfortunately, the blaze revealed the fragility and the danger that weigh on our heritage.

This is the reason why la Fondation du patrimoine is committed to protect lots of collapsing building since more than 20 years, along with private owners, town halls and associations.

Bridges, theatres, publics museums and churches that are suffering and getting closed to the public access.

We are launching a new campaign, Plus jamais ça ! /Never Again ! , to be able to grow the outpouring of generosity that Notre-Dame cathedral permitted.

This fundraising will feed an emergency fund to secure most threatened heritage sites.

Le Château de Jarnosse (Loire) has been in a state of disrepair for decades, and is in an advanced state of disrepair with only half of its wall and frames still standing.
L’église Saint-Roch de Lamenay-sur-Loire (Nièvre). The numerous storms have greatly aggravated the condition of the roof and the bell tower. Furthermore, the sacristy is currently tarnished due to water infiltration.

This sits are in immediate danger and will be selected among 2 800 projects actually supported by la Fondation du patrimoine, and the 3 000 projects that had been identify through the “Mission Bern”, a programme launched in 2017 in partnership with the French government to identified and find resources to rebuild heritage in danger. The numbers of sites retained will depend on the amount of fund that would be collected.

L’ancien Collège des Jésuites à Billom (Puy-de-Dôme) has been abandoned for 25 years. The south wing was destroyed by fire on October 28th, 1998, which almost completely destroyed the structure and roof.

Safeguarding French national heritage part of the multisecular world heritage is the heart of the Foundation du patrimoine’s missions, which every year organizes nearly 3,000 fundraisings and sponsorship collections for restoration projects.

Controlled by the Court of Auditors, a French administrative court charged to conduct financial and legislative audits of mostly for public institutions, it has a duty of information and vigilance regarding all the donors whose donations it collects. The quality of the works and the control of the cost of the works are also in the centre of his concerns.
